Description:    HAND SHAPED BY THE MAN HIMSELF, “MR. PIPELINE” -GERRY LOPEZ!  

This board came from an extreme high-end collection.  We waited patiently, then the Surf Vault opened and look what we found inside.  100% all original hand shaped Gerry Lopez that he made at the North Shore.  It has all red tint throughout with the smaller white bolt on the deck indicating it was an earlier 70’s shape.  Lopez is written on the deck across the stringer underneath the bolt.  It has a glass on black fin outlined in yellow and black complimenting the Diamond tail.  There are some heel compressions and signs of use, but this iconic lightning bolt has not been altered or restored in anyway.

Gerry Lopez was the most popular, highly regarded surfer in the early to mid 70s.  In the book The Ultimate Guide to Vintage Surfboards & Collectibles on pg 176 quotes “during that time Gerry Lopez was known as “Mr. Pipeline” because of his uncanny, casual approach to the deathly break – he owned it.”  Gerry Lopez is no stranger to the public eye where he starred in films from Conan the Barbarian, North Shore, Big Wednesday, cutting forward to his own documentary The Ying and the Yang.  When you think lightning bolt, you think Gerry Lopez, and here is your chance to own an original hand shaped by the guru himself.  Good luck to all bidders!!
